Die Geschichte der Rock- und Pop-Kultur wäre ohne Little Richard eine andere. Er steht für die Rebellion der Rock-Musik wie kaum ein andere Künstler. Mit hochtoupierter Frisur, geschminkt wie eine Frau mischte er als schwuler und schwarzer Musiker die prüden 1950er Jahre auf. Er spielte seine Konzerte vor Weißen und Schwarzen, auch das war in dieser Zeit etwas unglaubliches und unanständiges. Für Elvis Presley war Little Richard „Der Größte“, Michael Jackson nahm sich seine extravaganten Bühnenoutfits zum Vorbild, David Bowie und Prince orientierten sich an seinem bunten Make-up und androgynem Auftreten. Little Richard hat ganze Generationen bis in die Gegenwart beeinflusst. Er zählt zu den ersten zehn Mitgliedern der „Rock `n Roll Hall of Fame“. Am 9. Mai 2020 ist Little ­Richard im Alter von 87 Jahren gestorben. Damit verlässt einer der Größten die Bühne für immer.

With his hair done up, make-up like a woman, he stirred up the prudish 1950s as a gay and black musician. He played his concerts in front of whites and blacks, which was also something unbelievable and indecent at that time. For Elvis Presley Little Richard was „The Greatest“, Michael Jackson took his extravagant stage outfits as a model, David Bowie and Prince followed his colourful make-up and androgynous appearance. Little Richard has influenced whole generations up to the present. He is among the first ten members of the „Rock ‚n Roll Hall of Fame“. On 9 May 2020 Little Richard died at the age of 87 years. With this one of the greatest leaves the stage forever.
